The funeral took place at St Mary’s, Sticklepath, of Mr William Hellier, Bridge Cottage, Sticklepath.
Rev. Bassett-Pyke officiated and Mr Ebbutt. was at the organ. Commander Aldwell read the lesson.
Mr Hellier had been in poor health for a long time. Of a kindly and retiring disposition, he will be greatly missed in Sticklepath, where he had spent all his life.
The mourners were: The Widow, Mrs Clarke, sister, Messrs. George and Frank Hellier, William Bennett, Donald Riddell, Miles Baster, nephews; Mesdames Lily Riddell, Nellie Stead, George Hellier and Frank Hellier, nieces; Messrs Albert, Ernest and Sydney Bowden, J Underhill and F Taylor brothers-in-law; Mesdames Underhill, Taylor, A. Bowden, S. Bowden, A.Hellier, sisters-in-law; Mr and Mrs Tom Hill.
Mrs M.A. Bowden (mother-in-law) and Mrs Parkin (sister). were unable to attend through ill health.
