1923 Abstract of the Title of A.C.Knapman Esq. to land at Sticklepath, Sampford Courtenay, Devon

30th January 1867. By his Will of this date Arthur Knapman of Highampton in the Coy of Devon Yeoman after a ctn specific bequeat not affecting the ppty the subject of this abstract gave and bequeathed UNTO his wife or reputed wife Elizabeth Blatchford Cornish otherwise Knapman an anny of £40 to be payable to her for her natural life out of his real and psnl estate in the propons and manner thrnar mentd.

And gave and devised

ALL his real estate of which he shd be seised UNTO his brother John Knapman and his nephew Edward Knapman the younger son of his Brother Edward Knapman to hold the same unto and to  theuse of the sd John Knapman and Edward Knapman the younger and the hrs.

UPON the trusts and for the aids intents and ppses thrnar expressed and declrd of and concerning the same

And Testor decld that his trustees shd stand seised of (inter alia) his sd real estate UPON trust to pay the rents

UNTO his wife or reputed wife Elizabeth Blatchford Cornish otherwise Knapman until his daur Mary Louisa Cornish Knapman attained the age of 24 years or if living would have attained that age

And after directing that his sd wife shd out of such income maintain educate and support his sd daur testor decld that his Trustees shd stand seised of his messe tenement lands and htds  called part of Dickers part of Gales and Blatchfords and all other his freehold lands if any situate in the psh of Sampford Courtenay in the sd Coy of Devon

UPON trust for his sd daur Mary Louisa Cornish Knapman. Her hrs and assns and to be convd to her on her attaining the age of 24yrs subject nevertheless to and chgd with the payment throut 

UNTO his wife or reputed wife Elizabeth Blatchford Cornish otherwise Knapman during her life of an anny or annual sum of £10 on acct of the anny of £40 thrnbfe. Bequeathed to her EXECUTED and duly attested.

2nd April 1867 The sd Arthur Knapman died on this date

16th May 1867 The Will of the sd Arthur Knapman proved at Exeter by the sd J.Knapman and E.Knapman Junior.

2nd March 1882 The sd M.L.C.Knapman attained the age of 24 yrs.

9th December 1913 BY her Will of this date sd M.L.C.Knapman apptd her two step brothers Arthur Cornish Knapman and Henry Cornish Knapman Exors and Trustees and after ctn specific bequests not affecting the ppty the subject of this abstract gave

TO her stepbrother Arthur Cornish Knapman ALL her freehold ppty at Sticklepath in the psh of Sampford Courtenay afsd

EXECUTED and duly attested

2nd March 1914 The sd M.L.C. Knapman died.

17th June 1914 The sd Will was duly proved in the Exeter District Pbte Regy by the sd A.C. Knapman and H.C. Knapman.
